Marchesa Co-Founder Keren Craig Lists Her Luxury Barn in Upstate New York

A converted 1920s-era dairy barn, just two hours north of Manhattan, is on the market for $2,875,000.

The one-of-a-kind, five-bedroom, 3.5-bath home has been stylishly renovated and curated by its owner, fashion designer Keren Craig—co-founder of luxury womenswear brand Marchesa.

Set on 6.5 private acres in Accord, NY, the dwelling is described as “beautiful, but not precious.”

Craig designed and expanded the place during the 14 years she owned it.

“Keren added the master wing on to the home, as well as converting the second story to living space—it was originally the hayloft,” says listing agent Annabel Taylor. “The second-story conversion is incredible. It’s a big, vast, open space with fabulously high ceilings—amazing for parties!”

Throughout the house, cozy spaces, vaulted ceilings, and vintage details abound—there’s an antique claw-foot tub in one of the bathrooms and Plain English cabinets in the kitchen.

The home’s design effortlessly connects indoor and outdoor living spaces: In the primary wing, a wall of French doors offers a fresh breeze in the warmer months, while the original loft windows bathe the second floor in natural light.

And anyone looking for a small-town lifestyle within commuting distance of Manhattan will be particularly charmed by the 4,635-square-foot home.

“The barn is in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, an area ripe with new restaurants and coffee shops, antique stores, and breweries,” says Taylor. “There’s a new pulse to this area that started pre-COVID and then really took off when the pandemic hit.”

Craig, a Swiss-born British fashion designer, co-founded Marchesa in 2004 with Georgina Chapman, who was married to (and has since divorced) disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein.
